Short version
You can read without signing up. We are not turning your chapter history into ad segments. Most of what we touch is boring infrastructure — server logs, optional reading history stored on your phone or laptop, and staff cookies behind the admin login that normal visitors never trigger.
Data we see
Server logs. Each page or image request may log IP address, browser type, URL, referrer when your browser sends one, and a timestamp. That helps us keep the site up, spot scrapers, and see broad traffic — not follow you around the web.
Reading history on your device. When you open a chapter, Mikasa may save a small reading history entry locally so the History page can list recent titles. It stays on your device until you clear it there. Public reader routes do not set marketing cookies.
Admin session cookies. Cookies on /admin exist only for staff who log in to manage the catalog. If you never open admin, those cookies are never set.
Local settings. Theme or reader preferences may sit in browser storage until you wipe site data.
What we don't do
- Sell or rent visitor data to brokers.
- Ask for email, username, or payment to read chapters.
- Run third-party ad trackers inside the reader.
- Build cross-site profiles from what you open here.
Hosting & fonts
Mikasa runs on cloud hosting with CDN and object storage vendors that handle technical requests under their own policies. Typography may load from Google Fonts, which means your browser can contact Google when a page opens. Block that in settings if you prefer — the site falls back to system fonts.
Log retention
Access logs rotate on a short schedule for security and debugging, then get deleted. We do not keep a permanent record of casual browsing.

Policy updates
If Mikasa adds features that collect new data — optional accounts, for example — we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will be spelled out here in plain language.
